--------------------
How to recruit ‘right’ participants?
(Theoretically, we all know)
◦Surveying the whole population of our target group is most ideal approach to understand the target group.
(Realistically, we know)
◦We usually don’t have sufficient resources to conduct a census on our target group.
(Therefore)
Random sampling V.S. Convenient sampling (e.g. participants randomly recruited throughout a country v.s. participants recruited from class students)
Why do we need research grants?
◦Fund individual research programs
◦Fund Graduate research
◦Enhanced university research capacity/reputation
The main purpose of applying for funding/grants is to obtain the essential resources to accomplish the desired research.
